Happy Wednesday readers! Megan_Highwind here again to give you my thoughts on the latest episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The episode starts with the agents that were on the plane, Zephyr One, fighting against Ivanov and his cronies so that the plane does not get taken down. While fighting off the baddies, they are also trying to get to the platform that May and Coulson woke up on. Yo-Yo also speeds down to the platform to try to help the two fight off all of the robots that are body doubles of Ivanov.
Things are looking bleak for May, Coulson, and Yo-Yo when Aida, along with Fitz, appears and saves the trio and the still Framework bound Mack. When Aida and Fitz appear on the Zephyr One with everyone else, Simmons shoots Aida and Fitz with sleeping darts and puts them in the isolation pod. Upon waking, Aida mentions to Fitz that she can finally feel human emotion and how happy she is to be doing so. Meanwhile, Fitz is struggling with his emotions as he has remembered everything horrible that he did while inside the Framework. When Fitz reveals to Aida that he loves Simmons more than he could ever love her, Aida freaks out.
Aida, now calling herself Ophelia, escapes the Zephyr One and returns to where Ivanov is waiting for her. After having a discussion with Ivanov, Aida decides that she is going to use the Darkhold to bring the world from the Framework to life inside of the real world to try to get Fitz back to loving her alone. While that is going on, Yo-Yo enters the Framework to be with Mack and finds the entire Framework world is a mess.
Talbot appears at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base that has been destroyed by Aida just as she is going crazy over hearing from Fitz that he is still in love with Simmons. Talbot’s men attempt to stop Aida from leaving and a few of them get killed. This causes Coulson and the others to have to leave the Zephyr One before Aida herself leaves back to Ivanov. The episode then ends with the Ghost Rider coming back through a portal from a different dimension.
Overall, this week’s episode was not nearly as exciting as the last few have been. After everything crazy that was going on in the Framework, coming back to the real world and dealing with the consequences of the things that happened before was quite a bit more boring. It seems like this show has a penchant for having huge things happen in the last episodes of the season and since next week is the final episode, I am curious to see if they can make it as exciting as everything in the Framework has been. Both Aida and Ivanov have the Darkhold and are going to try to use it to make the real world the same as the Framework and now that the agents and the Ghost Rider!, are back in action I am excited to see how they finish things off with Aida. Hopefully it can capture the same level of suspense and thrill as the Framework episodes have.
