Happy Wednesday everyone! This week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starts off with both Daisy and S.H.I.E.L.D. investigating the ghostly woman who was causing chaos in the majority of last week’s episode. Both Daisy and the agents discover that the woman is from a facility that has long since been abandoned, but appears to be nuclear.
Daisy decides to try to find more out about the Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, and follows him to the garage where he works. Reyes, not inclined to take someone following him sitting down, ties Daisy up while he searches for a reason to kill her. While searching through Daisy’s things, Reyes finds the information on the abandoned facility and quickly leaves the room. Using her powers to break the ropes holding her down, Daisy follows Reyes to the facility.
While this all is going on, the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jeffrey Mace, is showing some of the members of Congress around the S.H.I.E.L.D. campus. Mace is planning on once again bringing S.H.I.E.L.D. back into the light and needs the approval of the group he is showing around to do so. While walking through the lab with the Congress members and Coulson, Simmons quietly reveals to the pair that May seems to be becoming quite paranoid. Coulson goes to check out the situation with May and May attacks him. Mace shows up in the room and uses his Inhuman strength to overpower Agent May. He then promises Coulson that he will take care of May.
Mack and Fitz have also made their way to the facility, at this point, where they are attacked by the ghost left behind to blow up the building. Reyes and Daisy show up, just in time for Reyes to save Fitz from being touched by the ghost. Reyes then proceed to set the ghost on fire and get rid of him. Fitz and Mack made a move to capture Reyes, but Daisy stops them from doing so. After Daisy gets fixed up by Fitz and Mack, she leaves them. Reyes then comes up to her and tells her he will explain what is going on as long as she does not tell her friends.
The first thought I have on this week’s episode is regarding the ghosts at the facility. What happened to them and what causes everyone that they touch to see images of those around them as black faceless figures? I am sure these questions will be answered in the coming episodes, but that is a creepy power to have. Also, how is Reyes involved in everything that is going on? Is he part of the experiment with those ghosts that happened to go somewhat well while the rest of the members of the group were killed? It is obvious that Reyes knows the ghosts and based upon the end where he tore a picture off the wall, that he knows them. Hopefully these questions get answered sooner rather than later! Also, the way that May was left tied up and struggling at the end of the episode along with the tense conversation between Mace and Coulson leads me to believe that everything in S.H.I.E.L.D. may not be the paradise that Coulson seems to be trying to lead the others to believe. Till next time!
