Review – Gotham “A Legion of Horribles”

Hello everyone! Megan_Highwind here with this week’s review of Gotham.  The episode starts with Selina trying to get away from Bridgit in Bridgit’s cell. Selina manages to get the flamethrower away from Bridgit and tries to use it. Unfortunately for Selina, Bridgit’s suit absorbs the flames and Selina is forced to beg Bridgit to be her servant in order to escape facing her death. Bruce comes to realize that Selina has been gone too long and enlists the help of Gordon, Lucius, and a hurt Alfred in order to break her out of Strange’s facility.

Hugo Strange, on the other hand, is doing what he does best and resurrecting more dead people. This time, he has chosen to bring Fish Mooney back from the dead. Fish, unlike the other subjects up to this point, successfully remembers her past. Strange throws Fish into a cell inside of Arkham and Fish discovers that she has some sort of powers of control when she asks for a sandwich from a guard and he brings it to her.

Bruce decides that the only way that he can save Selina is for him to break inside of Arkham. Bruce and Lucius go to Arkham and ask Strange for a tour of the facility since the Wayne Corporation has given a large amount of funds to the jail. Lucius is also able to sneak Gordon in as far as past the front gate. Strange realizes that the group is up to something and captures the three of them. Lucius and Bruce are kept  in a cell where they are interrogated by Ed Nygma who has been allowed, by Strange, to work for him. Nygma tells the two to give him all the information they have on Strange and who they have told about his experiments or be killed by lethal gas. While this is going on, Strange manages to clone Gordon’s face onto another inmate.

I am still annoyed that the end of this season has seemed to focus only on bringing bad guys back from the dead over and over again. That being said, it is interesting that Fish, unlike the others, has managed to keep her memories. I can only imagine that now that she has figured out that she has some sort of power it is only a matter of time until she finds her way out of the lab and tries to cause some more chaos. Likewise, things are looking pretty bleak for Selina, Bruce, Lucius, and Gordon so seeing how they manage to escape from their prisons next week will hopefully breathe some life into the season finale which the rest of the latter part of this season has been lacking.

Catch Fox’s Gotham on Mondays at 8/c!
