What’s good, everyone? Joshua Evo here and I’m bringing the scares with me, which is interesting since I’m not the biggest horror movie fan in the world. As a matter of fact, after seeing The Grudge, I had to sleep with people in the same room as me for like, WEEKS. Oddly enough, I still have a soft spot for one particular form of horror movie baddie; the typical vengeful, long haired female ghost that’s commonly seen in Japanese horror movies, or Onryō as they’re referred to in Japan.
While they creep me the hell out, I’m fascinated by them… to the point that my main character in Killer Instinct is one. Naturally, I try to play her to have the same effect on my opponents that Onryō have on me… scaring me half to death and costing me sleep.
Which brings me to my bit of hype news today. NBC Universal and Kadokawa released the second trailer for the upcoming Onryō monster throwdown between the demons of The Ring and The Grudge franchises, Sadako vs, Kayako. I’ve linked the trailer below, as well as translations for all the spoken bits for all of you like me who REALLY want to know what’s going on.
A rough translation of the text at the beginning says:
“Historic project, largest ever Japanese horror.”
“Forbidden territory to adults!”
‘Ring Series’ and ‘Grudge series.’
