It’s a Two-Fer! Review – Gotham “Beasts of Prey and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “Melinda”

Hello everyone! This week Gotham is back and since I’m having quite the busy week, this week is a two-fer! To start, this week’s Gotham lets us know what the various characters are up to since we’ve last seen them. It looks like Fish has taken her spot as assistant to the doctor on the island and is trying to find some way to escape from it. Cobblepot, on the other hand, is looking to get access to a place that he wants to have for killing ground, by any means necessary.

On the good side, Gordon and Harvey take on a case in which there is a man who picks up a woman at a bar. She spends the night with him and upon trying to leave in the morning; she is unable as the man will not let her leave. It turns out that this man is a serial killer named the Ogre who picks up women under the guise of being a nice and caring guy and then will keep them hostage. It turns out that this serial killer also hunts the families of those who come after him, which cannot be good for Gordon and Harvey. Meanwhile, Selina and Bruce take matters into their own hands when it comes to finding and taking care of the man who hurt Alfred who reveals why he was sent after files at Bruce’s house regarding his parents murder. The scenes between Selina and Bruce were probably my favorite as I really like this pair acting together.

Overall, I really liked this episode! It is setting up a lot for the future and I am excited to see what the last few episodes have in store.

On Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week, focused a lot on Agent May. It goes back and forth between present day and a flashback of a mission Coulson and May were involved in. May and her husband, Andrew, are focused on starting a family, but May also wants to stay in the field. They are after a woman named Belyakov who they were wanting to recruit due to super strength but realized that she was controlling officers that had been sent inside of a building to apprehend her. When the truth comes out of who is really behind the whole incident, it becomes apparent that Agent May has not and maybe will not forgive herself for what has transpired.

Meanwhile, Skye is still working with her mother in order to harness her powers. She lets Skye know that they must keep the secret of their relationship from everyone and reveals her part in the incident that Agent May was involved in in the above flashback. It seem as though things are coming together well for Skye at Afterlife, which seems to suggest that it is only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down around her. It also looks as though Raina’s powers have finally manifested themselves and could be very dangerous later on.

I liked this episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. a lot as well. I think that it set up a lot for future episodes and was really engaging and kept me interested and wondering what the future holds for these characters. Catch Gotham on Fox on Mondays at 8/7c and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC on Tuesdays at 9/8c!
