Review – Gotham: “Everyone Has a Cobblepot”

This week’s episode picks up pretty much directly where the last left off. After Alfred’s “friend” stabbing him, he is in the hospital trying to recover with Bruce right by his side. While Alfred is in the hospital both Gordon and Selina come back and try to offer help, but between Alfred and Bruce, they do not want to accept the offers. Bruce’s company seems to be sinking further and further down into a web of corruption so I want to see what Bruce is going to do to dig it out of the hole it is in. It turns out that Jim Gordon is basically the only cop in the entire GCPD that does not have any sort of secret hanging over his head that can be used for blackmail. As such Harvey gets the pair into another sticky situation where they end up needing to seek the help of Oswald Cobblepot to solve the crime of the week. Things definitely do not go as planned as the couple that they encounter are not quite what they appear to be.

On the bad guy side, Fish Mooney has had a surgery revealing a bright blue eye to replace the one she lost in the last episode. She seems to be more than willing to work with the doctor in his operation to gain body parts as he seems to be running low. I’m not entirely sure where this whole Fish Mooney/ creepy as heck doctor dynamic is going, but it is an interesting diversion from Fish being in charge in almost every situation she is put in. Overall, this was a pretty slow episode compared to some of the past few, but considering how good the ones before this were, I am willing to take it. I feel like this is all setting up to something big and I cannot wait to see what it is!

Gotham is on Fox on Mondays at 8/7c! Catch my review of the opening episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tomorrow night!
