Reviews – Gotham: “Asylum” and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: “Face My Enemy” Review

Hello everyone! This week, as I have had an extra busy one, I am giving you all another two-fer! Let’s start with this week’s episode of Gotham entitled “Arkham”. This episode, as the name suggests, focuses a lot on the future of the spot that Arkham Asylum was set up on. Both Falcone and his biggest rival Marconi are after this spot of land for two completely different purposes. Falcone wants to build low-budget housing while Marconi wants to use it as a toxic dump site. It turns out that Bruce Wayne’s parents were also interested in using the site as an overhauled place that was out to help the mentally ill in the community. Besides the Asylum, there is a focus more on Oswald and his power play to get things moving in his direction and Fish Mooney hiring a young girl to do some unspecified dirty work for her. I am extremely curious to see what Fish has hired this girl for. This episode was a little less exciting then some of the past, in my opinion, but it seems as though they are setting the stage for something big, which is exciting to see.

This week’s Agents of Shield “Face My Enemy” gave me what I have been asking for since the beginning. About ¾ of the way through the episode Agent May finally kicks some major tail! I have been feeling like since last season even though the villains have been better and the overall feel of the show I have appreciated more, I was missing a fight scene like they provided in this episode. Besides the awesome fight scene, this episode focused more on Hydra and its workings since last season’s end. They have been trying to gather the same items that have been haunting Coulson’s dreams for a while now and both Shield and Hydra came to a head in this episode while trying to get the artifact for themselves. Hydra definitely has some crazy tricks up their sleeve as far as the items they have in their arsenal and the fact that their leader seems as though he is willing to do anything and everything he can in order to get what he wants. I am curious to see how Raina reacts to the little “proposal” of the Hydra leader and what happens from there.

Check out Marvel’s Agents of Shield on Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC and Gotham on Mondays at 8/7c on FOX!
