Day 14 of 31 – Portal

Hey guys, welcome to Day 14! I’m glad you all have stuck around with us up to this point. This whole 31 days thing has been a triumph. I’m making a note here… huge success.

I’m going to level with you all… I don’t game much on PC. Really, pretty much at ALL. I’m a console (PS3 specifically, it’s just a personal preference) gamer for the most part and my home computer is a Mac. So when The Orange Box came out, I really didn’t pay too much attention to it despite the fact that everyone I seemed to know was going ba-zonkers over its release. One thing that I DID keep hearing though was how one of the best games in the collection was a quirky little puzzle/shooter-type game called Portal. People raved about it and it famously was given NO negative criticisms from the infamous Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw of Zero Punctuation fame.  I was personally REALLY late to the party and I wasn’t able to really get my claws into Portal until Steam was released on the Mac and Portal was the sort of welcome wagon free game. From all the reviews and musings from friends, I knew what I was getting into when I started Portal but what I didn’t expect was how much I was going to like the game. Aside from the Portal-based puzzles, the game has a really great story and has a sense of not taking itself all that seriously that makes it endear itself to  players. The game isn’t all that long but it’s a pretty fulfilling experience all the same.

— Evo out.

I like portal, its a fun game. I especially loved… everything about it. Unfortunately for me that means “Still Alive” gets stuck in my head on pretty much a daily basis. Anyway, I am still not 100% so my brain box is only functioning at 43.63829% capacity. Silly allergies. On that note.
